Civic Center Park is Denver’s most urban green space, bordered by the Capitol, Art Museum and City and County Building. It features a symmetrical Neoclassical design, with numerous statues, flower gardens, a Greek amphitheater, a war memorial.
Throughout the year there are numerous festivals, parades and protests in the Civic Center. Annual events include:

History
After years of planning by former Denver mayor Robert Speer, Civic Center Park officially opened in 1919. It quickly became the Colorado nexus for arts, history, learning and government.
Activities
Hiking: There’s no trail system, but you can circle the park checking out some of Denver’s premiere attractions.
Picnicking: Several picnic tables, park benches, and grassy areas exist for a relaxing picnic or place to chill out.
